The Honda Accord’s first hybrid model in the lineup is the Sport Hybrid, which has a two-motor hybrid system. One of these is an In-Line four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1993 cc, a redline of 6,100 RPM, and a compression ratio of 13.9:1. The DOHC valvetrain of this engine has 16 valves and dual variable valve timing control, which allows the gas engine to get 146 horsepower at 6,100 RPM and 134 pound-per-feet of torque at 4,500 RPM.
The additional high-torque traction motor gives the Accord Hybrid 181 horsepower at 5,000 to 8,000 RPM and 247 pound-per-feet of torque at 0 to 2,000 RPM. Together, the total system horsepower is estimated at 204. The Hybrid possesses a high-voltage lithium-ion battery and multi-stage high-pressure direct fuel injection.
Stability Programs
All Accord Hybrid models come with the Eco Assist™ program that maximizes your Honda’s already superior fuel economy.
