By contrast, the Toyota RAV4 base-level engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet torque. The hybrid version of the RAV4 comes with a more beefed-up version of the base engine, delivering up to 219 horsepower, while the RAV4 Prime's engine system delivers up to 302 horsepower.




Interior, Comfort and Fuel Economy

While both SUVs match the interior design and material quality, the CR-V offers a more spacious cabin with better legroom than the RAV4. The CR-V also has a larger cargo space than the RAV4. That said, the cabin of the CR-V is overall more luxurious compared to the RAV4. For fuel economy The CR-V also has the edge over the RAV4 regarding fuel efficiency. While the CR-V has EPA ratings of 34/28/30 (highway/city/combined) mpg, the RAV4's approximated EPA ratings are 33/25/28 mpg. While the two SUVs are neck and neck in nearly every metric, the CR-V wins overall thanks to its slightly better engine performance, roomier interior, and fuel efficiency.
